Rafael de la Rica, “Tardor”

From September 19th to October 11th , 2019

The Jordi Barnadas Gallery starts a new season with a fantastic individual exhibition of a young Menorcan artist who presents us stills made of oil on wood.

Rafael de la Rica offers us an up-to-date look of the classics and the Spanish baroque and, unlike the hyper-realists, matrix that which comes with soul and spirituality.

We find envelope compositions with elements very close to the viewer: colorful fruits, toys, old kitchen utensils or tools that the artist portrays meticulously demonstrating that, despite their simplicity, all these goals can offer value and some consecutive forests.

Although, undoubtedly, the main protagonist is the light that sends each of the works warm and harmoniously.

Only a serene person, reflective, calm and sensitive how he can concentrate on the way Rafael does his job and get caught up in front of the replacement of his pieces.
