Born in Barcelona in a family of artisans linked to the world of theater, props, where he worked from fourteen to twenty years, in an environment that will mark the habit and taste for craft forms and the use of pigments.
At the age of fourteen, he began his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts, Section IV, in the Hostafracs neighborhood (1954-1958), where he took classes in drawing, modeling and art history with Professor F.P. Verrié, who would influence him forever. He also visited the workshop of the post-impressionist painter Joquim Asensio Mariné, in the lower part of San Pedro Street.
In 1958 he entered the Sant Jordi School of Fine Arts in Plaza de la Veronica in Barcelona (1958-1963), where he studied drawing, painting and pictorial techniques under the tutelage of Miquel Farré, and art history under the tutelage of Subias Galter and Santos Torroella, who would have a lasting influence on him. He completes his training in the open workshops of the Círculo Artístico de Sant Lluc. He taught at the EINA school (drawing) from 1975 to 2010 and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona (painting) from 1988 to 2005.
He has been working in his studio in Sant Pere Street since 1966.
