Neus Martín Royo chooses cityscapes, mainly from Barcelona, she paints buildings and corners that are not emblematic: the places that aren’t normally photographed by tourists are those that the painter is most artistically interested in. The human figure is never present, a fact that leads her to create an atmosphere of silence, loneliness, timelessness and even mystery…

Her technique, oil on canvas or wood, is based on a visible brushstroke on a first charcoal drawing. The chosen shades and the mediterranean light give the point of warmth to her works.
