Settled in Barcelona in 1995, he has been exhibiting in our gallery since 1998. Artist with expressionist brushstrokes, interested in capturing the soul and emotions of his characters to transmit them to us through faces with intense gazes, gestures and suggestive attitudes. Many of his works are dedicated to contemporary dance, a discipline that he has admired since his youth. Currently, he is an already consecrated artist, with work present in prestigious art collections.

We often see in the art scene a cold realism or a conceptualism ,  but when we talk about Gabriel Schmitz, we find ourselves in front of an artist with soul, his works are always endowed with the warmth of feelings. He is a painter and also a great draughtsman, with four lines or four brushstrokes he knows how to capture the depth of the spirit of whoever he is painting. He appeals to emotion, an emotion that he captures and transfers to the spectator, creating a kind of tension between the one who is admiring and observing his pieces and the portrayed, this tension is not superficial, but the more we look at the work, the more it transmits to us.
