Lluís Bassat: “You don’t need to understand art; I don’t understand all the paintings I buy” El periódico

No need to understand art

Rubén López, journalist

Lluís Bassat has made a huge effort to choose the works that he liked most from his entire collection, consisting of some 5,000 pieces. His selection makes up the exhibition that the Lonja opened this Thursday and can be visited until April 27. Joan Miró, Antoni Tàpies, Miquel Barceló, Jaume Plensa, Juan Genovés, Eduardo Chillida, Manolo Millares, Julio González or the Aragonese Antonio Saura, Pablo Gargallo, Manuel Viola and Víctor Mira.

All that talent, and more, has fit within the walls of the Lonja in an exhibition that brings together the best of contemporary art of the last 60 years.
